Calzaghe to cool down at Devils clash

BOXING superstar Joe Calzaghe will swap the fierce heat of the fighting ring for the ice-cold hockey rink tomorrow.
The light heavyweight champion is appearing in support of the Cardiff Devils for their Elite League fixture against Nottingham Panthers.
Calzaghe is currently in training for his New York clash on November 8 against Roy Jones Junior.
But the Newbridge southpaw is taking the night off to enjoy the hockey clash in Cardiff Bay.
“I think Joe is looking forward to seeing a few fights on the ice,” said Shannon Hope, director of hockey at the club.
“We met at the Madonna concert at the Millennium Stadium and discussed him coming down for one of the games.
“We’ll ask Joe on the ice for the face-off and do a couple of boxing videos promotions which have been arranged, but we’ll obviously be careful he doesn’t slip.
“It will be fantastic to see him there.
“The fans will really welcome Joe and it will be a good chance to get the crowd to show their support for him for his upcoming fight.”
