Hopkins rematch would be boring claims Calzaghe

JOE CALZAGHE has dismissed the idea of a rematch with Bernard Hopkins, insisting it would be “even more boring a second time round.”
Calzaghe, who beat Hopkins with a split decision in Las Vegas in April, was impressed by the manner in which the 43-year-old handed Kelly Pavlik his first defeat in Atlantic City on Saturday night.
But that didn’t stop the Welshman swiftly rejecting Hopkins’ post-fight calls for a rematch with him. Even the American’s claims that he would travel to Wales for the bout were not enough to move Calzaghe.
For Calzaghe, who is now preparing to meet the legendary Roy Jones Jnr in what will be the final fight of his glittering career, felt Hopkins’ negative style brought out the worst of him.
And he was adamant nothing would convince him to go through that sort of experience again.
